After a couple of quiet weeks on the blog, things are beginning to heat up again. The Nashville Predators announced on Tuesday they will unveil their 2020 Winter Classic sweater this Saturday, November 2.
Each evening, the team has been releasing brief sneak peeks via Twitter. Here’s what we saw on Tuesday, Wednesday, and earlier tonight.
The first simply showed the Winter Classic patch on a white shoulder.
The second was a close-up of the collar, which features yellow laces and a navy blue inset. It also further confirmed the jersey itself will be white. This goes against some of the wishful thinking among fans that we’d be treated to a green-vs-yellow game.
The most recent clip shows the other shoulder patch—the new secondary mark that was released just over a month ago.
Adidas also teased the new Preds jersey earlier this evening.
It shows the same Winter Classic shoulder patch as Tuesday’s clip. And the wider shot confirms it will be on the right shoulder—which is standard. That puts the new Predators logo on the left shoulder, which makes sense—so it faces forward.
I’ll update this post Friday evening if the Predators release another sneak peek. And definitely be sure to check back on Saturday afternoon following the official release, which is set for 11 AM Central time.
For those wondering about the other Winter Classic sweater, the Dallas Stars have yet to say anything officially. However, the Dallas Morning News reported last week that Wednesday, November 6 has been set as the official reveal date. That coincides with the 78th anniversary of the first Dallas Texans game. The Stars’ new sweater is expected to pay tribute to the city’s first-ever professional hockey team.
