Today brings the third installment of the WHA Edition series from Mikael Åkerlind, who’s celebrating the 50th anniversary of the World Hockey Association’s inaugural season by creating NHL jersey mash-ups.

For this set, he transforms the Florida Panthers into their “cat cousins”—the Chicago Cougars. Funny enough, south Florida was actually slated to have an entry in the WHA’s inaugural season—the Miami Screaming Eagles—but the club never did find a suitable place to play, and therefore never skated in a game.

On the other side, the Dallas Stars become their Texas brethren—the Houston Aeros—by adopting a two-tone blue color scheme.
