Will Kozushko wants to talk about Calgary today. He writes:
Has anyone ever pitched a Flames concept like this?
Calgary’s move away from their near-perfect set from 2003 to 2007 (NOT including the black third) has left me perpetually in angst over their current uniform, which has too many differing stripes and patches. And I was never a fan of their ’80s era jerseys. There is something about those big white stripes and that white logo that look too… what’s the word… airy? Lightweight?
If there is a sizable movement in Cow Town to go back to their ’80s jersey, I would prefer that they try a hybrid that adds black to their older stripe pattern. This may look reminiscent of what Florida fielded for a few years, but I think it would make the Flames look refreshingly b@d@$$ on the ice and on TV.
So what do you think? Is he onto something here?
If you’re having trouble picturing it on the ice, check out the mockup he sent along under Extra Images.
