Regarding the Sun Devils design, Aaron writes:

Personally, as an ASU alum, I hate the current pitchfork, but I really wasn’t sold on Sparky taking center stage. I decided on a more classic, college-esque number on the front look because it fit ASU’s “be the tradition” tagline that coach Powers has been pushing since we made the jump to NCAA D1.

And on the Wildcats, he writes:

It would have been a crime to not use the “A,” but I made sure to include the Wildcat on their shoulders, too. U of A has a hockey pedigree that almost matches ASUs. From getting beer dumped on me by a fan while I was on the bench to goalie fights that guaranteed that we wouldneturn from down south to Tempe earlier than 1AM (on multiple occasions), U of A is what makes me think of my own hockey history. That’s why I wanted a traditional identity that looks like it has been around since skates were introduced to AZ, but also like it could be released for a brand new school trying to get a foothold in the college hockey landscape.
