Wow. This one is just brilliant.
“There are a lot of great Hurricanes concepts around already,” writes Atte Nurminen, “but I’ve had some ideas brewing in my head for a while now so I decided to give them a spin. It’s not meant to be a complete revolution but a tweak to their current branding. I made the secondary logo fit better with the primary logo. I tried to blend the classic flag pattern into the striping without it being too distracting from distance (except with the black socks where they make the opposing team take warning!). The shoulders carry subtle elements of the primary logo. The captains’ letters are inspired by the current wordmark logo.”
This is only Atte’s second contribution to Icethetics (the last was a Jets set in 2016), but it sure is a beauty! My favorite part is his redesign of that third jersey crest. I like what the team actually went with last year—the subtle North Carolina outline and all—but I might actually like this one more. What a solid look.
