Last fall, John Elbertson created an interesting inter-league outdoor exhibition jersey match-up featuring NHL and WHA teams from Vancouver. At the end of that post, I suggested a future edition featuring the North Stars and Fighting Saints from Minnesota—and John seriously delivered!

He dug deep into Minnesota’s rich hockey history by borrowing jersey elements from other past teams including St. Paul Athletic Club and the Duluth Hornets. (Check out their uniforms at Vintage Minnesota Hockey.)
